As avid supporters of Madubula Safaris in South Africa, we are very
pleased to introduce John and Lauri Abraham, and their ten tips for
booking your next safari.
I had the very unique opportunity to hunt with John Abraham at the Venetia concession in South Africa. By far, one of the most amazing hunts I have ever experienced. An organization with high standards... the best trophy selection in Africa exists on Madubula's concessions. --Haley Vines
10 Tips from John Abraham- Professional Hunter of the Year- 2007
1. Don't book cheap safaris. The best areas cost more than under stocked
barren areas.
2. Make sure your outfitter is a member of his countries Professional
Hunters Association. If not, you have no recourse when things go wrong.
3. Ask a lot of questions. The more you know, the better prepared you
will be.
4. Pack what you think you need, then take half out and leave it behind.
Put enough money in your wallet, then double it!
5. Don't be fooled by glossy, full color advertisements or huge, designer
booths; these outfitters have to do this to sell their hunts. The best
outfitters are usually quiet, unassuming with an ordinary booth. However,
his booth will always be full and he will usually be booked well in
advance.
6. If your outfitter suggests something, do it. He knows the country
and it's requirements and the best way to get things done.
7. Be sure to inform the outfitter of your expectations and requests;
all of them. That way, he too can be better prepared.
8. Confirm everything in writing.
9. Make your decision on who to hunt with, then TRUST him!
10. Remember, safari is about fun; have it! It's the overall experience
that counts - not just the size of the trophy.
